Brick Store Pub, Decatur, GA

Located just around the corner from Eddie's Attic and across the street from Julie's Cafe, the Brick Store Pub is darned near perfect. The food was decent, but the food is not the point, the drinks menu is where it's at. I don't think I've ever seen a better selection and maybe never seen so many Belgian beers in a US establishment. High ceiling, brick and plaster walls and timeless bar furniture, add cool, knowledgable staff and you have a winner. Even the inflatable airplane hung from ceiling couldn't ruin the vibe. Smoking is allowed at the sidewalk tables. This is where I saw the divinity students with their pipes drinking beer. At first I thought they were hipster lawyers, but no, hip priests. Mark E Smith couldn't write it any better.

Another interesting note on the Brick Store Pub, they offer CASK beer in the upstairs bar. Not keg beer mind you, but beer out of an actual cask. Only place I'm aware of that has this offering. They consistently rotate the cask beers as well so you have an opportunity to try a number of varieties.

Title: Almost no Music

I forgot to mention another key plus at BDP. I detest loud music in bars and restaurants, none at all would be perfect for me. At BSP they do have a sound system, but in the afternoon some jazz was playing very, very quietly, and in the evening it was no louder and the sound of the sound of the clientele's conversation made it impossible to hear what music was on. Bravo.

Just poop. My friends and I had planned to eat here before your show. I was late getting into Atlanta, so we had to punt and head straight to the venue. Must say, Eddie's Attic had a mean portobello burger. Next time down I am hitting the BSP!!
