For what it is worth - two terse comments on the naturalization issue:

1) any estate left by a green card holder is a taxable event. So if no desire to become a citizen - one has to "consider" putting everything joint w/ one's better half.

2) if one "accidentally" commit a felony (well, unlikely in your case) -- when a green card holder finishes their spell in Rikers Island -- they are escorted directly to JFK and waved sayonara.

btw --- were you able to catch Matthew Girlfriend anniversary tour? There were a bunch of us at the table at City Winery hoping that special guests were going to show up (u and Richard Lloyd and Ivan Julian etc), but no luck. At any rate - great show, with great sound from Matthew's old classic guitar.

thx.

Posted by: JOB - 13/11/2011
