Great disc with great arrangements. Love the banjo. Bought Neil Clark's 'Sundogs' aswell after one listen. Beautiful, ambient, minimal (with effects) guitar work. Highly recommend it!

Hi Mr. Cole, making music seems more than having just fun obviously! But in the end it�s all worth it, the stress, sickness, being exhausted and hopefully you feel some sort of privelegded while playing and singing in the studio. As a huge bunch of people can�t wait holding the record in their hands i would like to know if you�re planning the release of a single in advance. I would be pleased watching you on top of the pops again being under the top ten of the single-charts ...sounds strange i know but isn�t it worth thinking about it!? Dirk

You did it almost like the did at Sun Studios in Mepisis in Elvis's day. A couple run thrus & then to tape. Except you have more Channels/Tracks too work with then they had Two.In my opion I love Lloyds work because he is MR Cole not Costello not Bono Not Stipe He is a unique Performer who always pushes himself to do something different every Album but does not lose his Identy He should be as big as them though.Thats what make him great & He is a proffessional he put his heart & Soul into everything he does even Golf that what mkes him Great.an Inpiration to us all!!!

This is just a small co-incidence, and may only have any meaning to me, but in the year 1985, in the space of two months, I met both Leonard Cohen (in a Greenwich Village bar, in which he was the sole patron) and Lloyd Cole (in the toilet of the El Mocambo in Toronto) At the time I only knew of the Commotions from their photo on the cover of Rattlesnakes (and their fantastic hit song), so didn't know which one was Lloyd. I think he was taken aback a little when, while we were both relieveing ourselves, I asked if he were with the band and when would they take the stage. Lloyd just smiled and said, 'very soon.' I've never understood the appeal of Leonard Cohen, but then again I don't write songs, or poetry for that matter.
