This is a complicated one because I wrote it, to start with, in regular tuning. I finished writing it after I’d started playing it in Open Eb for the Small Ensemble arrangement.

The only thing which doesn’t make sense in Open Eb alone is the D minor over C bass chord in chorus 2. This is a chord I found when learning Famous Blue Raincoat. I love this chord – it is already in another song I’m working on. Sometimes I get tired of the same chords but I don’t tire of C, G and F and I don’t tire of this one… In normal tuning the song would be played with a capo on the 3rd fret and so to get Dm over C you just slide the Am shape (which is Cm with capo 3) up two frets.

OK that’s all. This is the chord chart I found from Small Ensemble rehearsals.
