Q – any advice for the middle aged dude looking to really learn a new instrument and do it the right way? Any advice on a good starter guitar in the $200-300 range?

A – Our first acoustic was a Yamaha. That’s what’s playing on AYRTB Heartbroken? You can still get a nice Yamaha acoustic for $250 or less. If you’re not planning on playing anything in particular I’d recommend a nylon strung guitar. They are much easier on the fingers and the neighbours.
