Q – What do you think of Billy Bragg? I know he has worked with your friend Jill Sobule, i seen her supporting billy a few years back And thought she was excellent.

Alongside Morrissey and Billy you must have always been crossing paths in the 80s having all started out at a similar time.
A – I like the way Billy has developed as a singer and a writer over the years. His early work was lovely but his singing voice seemed to be, like young Weller, in a battle with the material. I don’t think this is the case anymore and I can confirm that he is a lovely man and it’s great that he is now an official National Treasure. He met the Queen!!
