Q – Hi, Lloyd.
Even though I faintly recall you not liking Bad Vibes too much as an album, I have always been amazed by its full, rich sound. Tracks like Wild Mushrooms, Mr Wrong and Morning Is Broken rank among the best-sounding songs of my entire record collection.
Just out of curiosity: is Bob Clearmountain responsible for that type of sound, or was it more Adam Peters’ work? How do you feel about that particular sound now?
A – Adam and I put so much stuff on tape it took Bob Clearmountain to make some sense of it.. we tried to mix it at Electric Lady and we didn’t do the best job. If you want to know how good Bob is you should hear our mixes… however, he didn’t record or arrange anything – that, for better or worse, was us.
