Q – Hi, my Brazilian wife always asks me when she hears me play “Brazil” why you chose Brazil as the country with good drugs instead of Colombia.
I’ve told her it’s just a song but it winds her up so much I thought I’d ask you and then maybe she’ll stop moaning on about it.
A – We (the Negatives) knew that we would be touring there and the song grew out of our anticipation. I hope the song can work on a few different levels, but it was never my intention for it to be taken very seriously. Please also let your wife know that the difference between a two syllable word and one with four is huge, when composing lyrics.
