Located just around the corner from Eddie’s Attic and across the street from Julie’s Cafe, the Brick Store Pub is darned near perfect. The food was decent, but the food is not the point, the drinks menu is where it’s at. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better selection and maybe never seen so many Belgian beers in a US establishment. High ceiling, brick and plaster walls and timeless bar furniture, add cool, knowledgable staff and you have a winner. Even the inflatable airplane hung from ceiling couldn’t ruin the vibe. Smoking is allowed at the sidewalk tables. This is where I saw the divinity students with their pipes drinking beer. At first I thought they were hipster lawyers, but no, hip priests. Mark E Smith couldn’t write it any better.
