Q – This proberbly was not in your control, however I am interested if you can shed any light on why the lyrics to My Bag were changed in the video on the new singles collection.
The original line states ‘excuse me one moment whilst I powder my nose’ this has been changed to excuse me one moment whilst I launder my clothes’
A further line originally stated ‘meet me in the John John’ which has been replaced with Mimi’s in the John John’
Is this because of the original references to drugs, which was my understanding of the original lines.
A – Your reasoning is sound. The Record Co. felt they couldn’t get the video on TV with the correct lyrics. I believe this was the only version of the video that was made.
