Q – I saw you(and The Commotions) in Washington D.C. as a college student in the late winter of ’86(I think). I was on a ski trip in Colorado a few months later where I was lucky enough to catch you in Denver. I noticed that you and Neil were at odds the entire show until he finally walked off the stage. He later returned for an encore of “Forest Fire”. Maybe you don’t want to dig up such an old “ghost”, but ease my curiosity a bit. Was that just the culmination of months of the “rigors of the road”?
A – I’m pleased to say that I have no recollection of this at all, and I hope it stays that way. We were not a ‘Boys Gang’ and we did find it hard to get along at times. But this was certainly an exception to the norm.
