Q – Your manager Derek MacKillop gets a co-writing credit for the song “Mainstream” on The Singles collection, but doesn’t on the original album. How come?
A – On the Mainstream album all the band members got a share of the songwriting, including the manager. Not all shares were the same. This must have led to the credit. I guess if we credited ‘Lloyd Cole and the Commotions’ then there is no real inconsistency as he was pretty much one of us.
