Q – Lloyd – When you’ve released a new album or considered your body of work, have you ever tried to imagine what impact your music has had (or will have) on the lives of others? Making music has always seemed such a foreign act to me since I have no capacity to express myself in that manner. But I try to make music such as yours “my own” and translate it into whatever feeling or emotion I am having at the time. Just curious as to your thoughts on how you think others interpret your music. Thanks.
A – I guess I’m happy with the idea that my music means something to folk and they can get pretty attached to it. I feel similarly about, for example, Leonard Cohen’s work, and he’s pretty much my role model (work, not life). So, yes, I’m aware it has an impact, but I don’t sit around thinking about it.
