Q – Thought I’d share this: When I had a college radio show back in 1989 (WUAG, University of North Carolina at Greensboro), we had some holiday greetings from various bands that we were supposed to play in between songs. My favorite one was a soundbite from none other than Mr. Cole – in which you quote, if I remember correctly, Marc Bolan – it starts out something like “Have a gold Christmas…” Do you remember where/why this was originally recorded, and the rest of the quote?
A – Solid Gold Easy Action by T.Rex was released close to xmas 1972 or 3, I think. The b-side Born to Boogie was preceded by a spoken greeting from Marc – something like ‘Have a super funk Christmas and a Golden New Year’
