Q – You’ve had some success here in America, but you’re obviously much better known in the UK. Who in American music is your UK fame equivalent? I don’t mean in quality terms– just in terms of fame alone. Giving this about 30 seconds thought, the first name that popped in my head was Terence Trent D’Arby (don’t scream). Very successful and generally well-regarded first album. Very high profile for a while, sales declined over time, but still a reasonably well-known name now. The comparison isn’t perfect obviously (Easy Pieces sold very well, different hairstyles, you’re not insane, etc.), and I have no idea if TTD is still alive/working like you are, but it’s the best I can come up with right now.
This is obviously not meant to be at all serious– more for humor/entertainment. If you don’t want to take a crack at it, maybe you can open it up to the LC.com audience. Thanks.
A – I’ve no idea how to answer this but if ‘the LC.com audience’ want a crack at it, please go ahead. I think I might shy away from the results, though…
