In the process of getting ready to assemble a box set of the first 7 years of my solo career, it is clear that some songs, or rather, some recordings are lost. DATs and cassettes have disappeared… in most cases it’s quite likely to be for the best, as these songs cannot have been classics, but as the archivist I’m a little frustrated.
I recorded a demo of Lee Hazelwood’s Pour Man. It’s gone.
There were numerous 1/2 and 3/4 finished tracks from the Bad Vibes sessions, all gone.
A few tracks from the Love Story sessions which were recorded and rough mixes were made are gone, too.
