Q – Hi Lloyd, I’m wondering what mic you use for your vocals? Also what mic pre/comp you use? And, lastly, do you record with full freq response to the source(and eq later in the mix), or in the case of vocals, do you EQ somewhat going to tape/hard drive, etc?
A – I use a Neumann U67 into a Geoffrey Daking mic pre, a tiny amount of compression from an Empirical Labs Distressor, EQ is usually flat. I use Apogee A to D converters for all my recordings.
