Q – I noticed a few questions lately about similarities between yours and others songs. Here’s another: have you noticed the similarity between the build-up guitar riff in Beautiful City and the one in Dreams (Allman Brothers)? I know that stuff is unavoidable and Greg Allman doesn’t seem like one of your influences but I thought I’d ask. Love Beautiful City by the way, it was a great discovery for me on the CD with the extras.
A – Never heard it. Never really knew any Allmans stuff except Greg’s playing on Layla which is great. Heard Rambling Man on radio recently – title is right on the money. Always thought BC intro owed more to Johnny Marr.
