The Red Fort was THE Indian in central London, and then it wasn’t.. Well, it is back. I could care less about best of lists, but my best set lunch I’ve had in the last couple of years was here.

Here is the menu, at 12 pounds it is a real steal.

STARTERS

Bhatti ka murgh
Corn fed chicken with mint, coriander, ginger and green chillies

Seekh kebab
Spiced roasted minced lamb skewers

Hara kebab
Spinach and fenugreek patties lightly filled with cheese, onion and coriander

Makai seekh
Roasted skewers of sweet corn, cottage cheese, potatoes and ginger

All starters are served as a selection with bread

MAINS

Murgh handi lazeez
French corn fed chicken in a spicy clove and garlic sauce

Bhutta hara pyaaz
Stir fried baby corn, mushroom and spring onions with spices

Panchrangi dal
A traditional dish made from five lentils

Zeera pulao
Cumin flavoured saffron rice
