Q – I remember seeing you perform on the Kalas tour in Stockholm a few years ago (must have been -98, since I believe it was the day after the World Cup-final!) and you played a song I’d never heard before; Jackson Browne’s “These days” (though I think you said you first heard it in Nico’s verison).
I loved it and finally got it in CD when I bought Brown’s “Best of” recently. But I kinda liked your acoustic take better, so any chance you’ll ever record it?
A – Nico’s version is best. If I ever get around to making my ‘Pin Ups’ I’d probably have a shot at recording it. Never much of a J. Browne fan, but ‘Please don’t confront me with my failures, I have not forgotten them’ gets better every time I hear (or sing) it.
