Q – Im one of those tedious audio nuts ands have noticed the different qualities of your recordings over the years.

What do you use to monitor your recordings (or indeed record them)? I see you, like me, are a mac fan, but do you have any preference or interest in how you wish the end result to be? Generally your discs sound pretty good.

A – Coming out of the Mac the signal goes to a Benchmark DAC1 convertaer, then to a Bryston preamp, and then Genelec powered monitors, or the same Bryston to a Quad power amp to some Pro Ac small speakers. I also use the Tivoli Audio home stereo as a reference, in fact I like the Tivoli so much I’m going to install a system in the studio as a third reference and to be the speakers for my business/iTunes computer.
