Q – I’m curious to know what you think of Van der Graaf Generator and Peter Hammill. Being a big fan of yours and also VdGG/PH, I wondered if you might also be a fan of theirs.

A – I’m not a huge fan but that is partly because I haven’t heard enough. I do like Hammill and whenever his name comes up I always think – I should listen to more – but I never really have. I have an album called the Black Box, I think, that John Peel played a lot in the early 80’s. He also played quite a lot of VDGG and I always liked what I heard.
OK, then – Is there a good compilation to get started with VDGG? Let me know and I’ll buy it.
