Q – I’ve recently been perseverating on the B-side Wild Orphan. It’s a fantastic lyric, but the thing that keeps running through my head is the chiming call-and-response guitar break in the middle and the incredible melodic solo at the end.
Who plays the lead on Wild Orphan? And how can I play like that? Jeez…
A – Well, I didn’t remember so I just had a listen. The middle section is all Robert Quine – two of him. The end, which didn’t excite me as much as you, I’m afraid is all me. How does one learn to play like that?
